You can easily ask for a lawn sign, sign up to volunteer, get the latest news on your Conservative candidate in Toronto Centre, and more, at www.kevinmoore.ca. Our hard-working candidate has been canvassing regularly and raising the Conservative flag all over the riding, and his manager, our previous candidate David Gentili, has provided both a welcome continuity and professionalism to the campaign. In short - bookmark them, they deserve it!

Construction on Sherbourne Park, a 1.5 hectare green space at the foot of Sherbourne Street on both sides of Queen’s Quay, was recently begun with a ceremonial sod-turning in which Finance Minister Jim Flaherty, Minister responsible for the GTA, participated. This park will anchor a large new development along the waterfront and was made possible by $20 million in funding from our Conservative Federal government. It will open in the summer of 2010.

We hope to post pictures of our recent townhall at The 519 Community Centre to a gallery on this site shortly, and we look forward to hosting many more townhalls as we build our civic engagement skills in advance of the next federal election.
We encountered great fascination with what emergencies are possible, how the city prepares, and what neat stuff goes into an emergency kit, and we hope to do another one in the weeks to come that delves into emergency preparedness policy.

The Toronto Centre Conservative EDA has decided to host some policy and information townhalls, both to build our civic engagement capacity, and to serve the needs of our community.
So please join us for our first townhall of 2009, titled Ready for Anything? which will comprise presentations followed by a roundtable discussion on the topic of Emergency Preparedness. In addition to talking about (and displaying!) the stuff your household needs to be ready for anything, this townhall will be your chance to get engaged on this issue, which is crucial to both community and country!
Click here to register for free (so we know how much refreshment to get!) Further details will appear here as they are confirmed. Also, you can help us promote this event by downloading this handy flyer!
When: Wednesday, July 29th, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m.

As of Tuesday, April 21, 2009, the EDA has struck its Candidate Nomination Committee. We’re making a particularly strong effort in this electoral cycle to have a contested nomination.
One thing we’re sure of: any potentially successful candidate should be able to bring in volunteers and donors. That in particular bespeaks considerable experience and success in community service.
A record of successful teamwork and disciplined public commentary also shows a potential candidate’s ability to work with our party and articulate our policies and accomplishments to all kinds of voters.
It helps to be at the right stage of life, as it’s a major commitment of time. Trying to meet every member in the riding before the nomination meeting, and then every potential Conservative voter after that, is like having a job on top of your regular job!
Candidacy is an opportunity to put your patriotism and concern for your community into practice. Also, campaigning furthers your ability to promote the causes and policies you support, particularly those aligned with conservative values of self-reliance, tradition, prudence, diversity and freedom.
Where can such wonderful people be found? Anywhere - that’s the beauty of living in a free country. They could be your friend, your relative, your associate, your neighbour or your colleague. (Think: FRANC!)
So if you know a young conservative (big or small C!) with a few years of work experience under their belt, a conservative at mid-career ready to set the stage for a change, or an older conservative concluding their career, let them know: there’s an opportunity here, and they can talk to us any time about it.
For further information please contact volunteers@cpc-torontocentre.ca or call 647-723-2151.
